And then she brought me in the back room where she took all her clothes off.

Barry and Julie have arrived safely, and were in pretty good shape considering their lengthy journey. We managed to go around and see a few points of interest and have some food before the inevitable jetlag set in.
We visited an old temple in Seoul and were given a tour by the most efficient (read as fast) tour guide that has ever been employed. "Here is the kings room (2 second pause). Let's go". We got round the whole place in about 5 minutes, so after the tour we went back round so we could get pictures and enjoy the place a little more. Upon leaving she reminded us of a show that was on later, we said we would go even though we had absolutely no intention of doing so.
I've noticed that people seem to do this a lot, just agreeing with someone so that they can get away from them. Are we so insecure, or worried about hurting the other persons feelings that we feel we have to lie? I would like everyone who reads this to try and go a day without falling into this social trap. Some examples of how this would work:
1. Girlfriend/Boyfriend: Do you want to go out with my friends (all of which hate you) next month?
You: Not at all, I would far prefer to stay in and watch fitba and have a couple of beers.
2. Colleague: Will you be able to make it to my garden party on Sunday? I've got all the family coming.
You: I do not fancy that at all, but I hope that you guys enjoy your day.
3. Salesperson: When will you be back in to buy the car?
You: I'm not going to buy it, there is nothing here that I want.
There is no need to be rude about this at all, just be honest. The person to come up with the best reply can have a prize, and anyone actually completing a whole day doing this will feel happy and relieved at not having to tell a single lie.
I'll be away for the remainder of the week, so I won't be on hand to add to the website for a while. I'll be back on Sunday with a full report on the Korean city of Busan. Stay well folks.

Not a clue. I'm presuming this is actually a film quote, rather than just a diary entry, but I still don't know.

I was for several years a compulsive liar -- see my autobiography for full details -- and I can confirm that's it benefits neither lier or liee in the long term.

It's strange that this topic should come up now, when UK elections are only two days away. Each party has set out it's slogan to entice the public.

Conservatives: Public spending cuts = more money for public services.
Scottish Nationalists: Yeah, well, still, go on.
Labour: Gordon Brown's lovely... woooo Margaret Thatcher, woooo!
Liberal Democrats: We're broadly in favour of evil dictatorships.

Big promises, but can they keep them? Probably not and we don't really expect them to, do we?

I say, eat more fruit and veg and stop bothering government with your ridiculous problems. Especially Edinburgh City Council. Go on, clear off!

((Yes, I'm totally happy that there's no internal consistency in that post.))

It seems that Mr Burnside was looking for quotes from war movies. In order to stop him crying too hard, and because he has a birthday coming up I am going to make the next few quotes from movies that depict man's inhumanity to man.
This quote is from a multi award winning film that everyone from our generation has seen. It made a star of a young Johnny Depp, and has remained a christmas gem played every year. Point still up for grabs here folks.

Man's inhumanity to man? So it's going to be the Police Academy series?
